Tim Peterson is a leading executive director and curator, and is an advocate for artists, equity, access and transparency. He noted for premiering major solo exhibitions by an exceptionally diverse slate of fast-rising and established artists including Reggie Burrows Hodges, Ryan Adams, Alison Hildreth, Jeane Cohen, Yashua Klos, Ian Trask, Njideka Akunyili Crosby, Paula Mpagi Sepuya, Ghada Amer, Rob Fischer, Christian Marclay, Kehinde Wiley, Uta Barth, Alejandro Cesarco, Jacob Kassay and Shinique Smith.

Collaborative projects include organizing the thematic exhibitions, Spatial Relations, Into Action, Walk the Line, and Linear Abstraction; Jonah Booker's world premier performance and museum intervention, The Rebel; and co-curating Jack Leigh: Full Circle, a retrospective of the late Southern photographer's work, and Daniel Minter and Eneida Sanches: Through This to That.

Peterson previously served as Executive Director and Chief Curator for the Center for Maine Contemporary Art (Rockland, Maine), Founding Director and Curator of Franklin Art Works (Minneapolis) and Chief Curator for the SCAD Museum of Art (Savannah), with prior curatorial posts at Lannan Foundation (Los Angeles), the Williams College Museum of Art and the Provincetown International Film Festival.

He has established significant curatorial collaborations with organizations including the Walker Art Center, Indigo Arts Alliance, the Camden International Film Festival, Ellis-Beauregard Foundation, Highpoint Center for Printmaking, and Speedwell Contemporary, among others. Peterson is a passionate advocate for contemporary art, artists, nonprofit staffs, and community engagement.
